Newark's wide market place is overlooked by its elegant Georgian Town Hall and the cathedral-like St Mary Magdalene, the finest parish church in Nottinghamshire.  A farmer's market is held in the town on the fourth Thursday of every month.

In recent years Newark has become famous for its six annual antiques fair, held in the Newark County Showground - for which Willoughby House is ideally located.

Other Attractions

The attractive small town of Southwell lies approximately 7 miles away, with its 11th century Minster, Race course, and National Trust Workhouse. Robin Hood country is on our doorstep, as are the National Trust properties Belton House, Mr. Straw’s, Hardwick Hall and Clumber Park.

Slightly further afield, you can enjoy a trip to Nottingham with it's excellent range of shops, restaurants and exciting lifetime, or to the historic city of Lincoln, whose skyline is dominated by its magnificent Cathedral.
